East Liverpool Historical Society

This is the far right portion of the panoramic poster the East Liverpool Historical Society had made a few years back. (You can buy the poster from the East Liverpool Historical Society or the Museum of Ceramics.)

The poster had 4 pictures in a panoramic layout of East Liverpool taken from the West Virginia side of the river. The dates of the pictures are 1876, 1898, approx 1912 and 1998.

The far right hand portion of the 1898 picture is cut off on the poster but exists in the original picture which can be seen at the Museum of Ceramics in East Liverpool.

This picture shows the West End before the Newell Bridge was built. The Horn Switch is visible with railroad cars on it. Some house boats still existed on the Ohio River in the East Liverpool area into the 1950s.

The forerunner to modern day 8th street is visible.

You can follow along on this map that was to be found in the center of the Bell Telephone books for the East Liverpool and surroundings area in the 1950s.
