The back of this picture is marked "ELO about 1956." The picture was taken from Route 7, the four-lane Wellsville road. You can see the Ohio River, Pennsylvania Railroad tracks, Newell Bridge.

This picture is taken from up above Eighth street. The date is not known. Visible in the picture is a good portion of downtown. Of interest to this west end series is Sixth Street School about the center of the picture. Directly below and in front of the Sixth Street School is the Adament Porcelain (Old Peach Plant, Older West End Pottery)

If you look closely along the side of that pottery you can make out a trestle going from Sixth Street down to Eighth street. To the right and on the same level as Sixth Street School on the other side of the trestle is the City Hospital. At the far right of the picture you can see the roof of the home of Oliver W. Burford, of the Burford Bros. Pottery.

Next to that house you can just see the East Liverpool end of the Newell Bridge.
