Yes, that is Jeff out there checking things out.

Something interesting. Either there was a man made wall there all along or something was walled up. Back in the day, at the western end of the hill road just past where old East 4th street merged with the Hill Road, there were some businesses located between the road and the hillside. Schell heating was located in that area up until the early 1970's, for instance.

Looking back towards the way we had just came towards East End.

This was as far as we went on this day since we had already come this far from the west end back in January 2012.

The following picture document that particular journey. We were joined on that day by the President of the ELHS, Attorney Timothy Brookes.

Well, that is pushing the envelope a tad bit. This is just after we began our walk along the old Hill Road. We entered it from the end of Ravine Street. Picture courtesy of Jeff Langdon.

We were able to walk a couple hundred yards probably until we came to the rock slide area. At this point there was a pile of rocks blocking any further progress. We could have probably climbed over it but it laid right up to the drop off to the 4 lane below. We felt it was wise not to try to climb over loose rock that was covered with ice and snow. A slip could have been bad news. We may be adventurous at times, maybe even push the envelope at times ourselves, but we do have common sense too. Picture courtesy of Jeff Langdon.

The above would in time be shaved off as they stabilized the hillside. You see the results of that in the last pictures in Part 5. Picture courtesy of Jeff Langdon.

More of the loose rock pile. The other side would have been on to East End. However, we would do that later, in March. Picture courtesy of Jeff Langdon.

Now we can say we have officially taken each of you with us and we have walked the entire Old Hill Road. For those who ask why would we do this? Our answer is, because it was there. Picture courtesy of Jeff Langdon.

Hyperlinking, or as it is also called framing, without permission is not permitted.

Legally speaking framing is still in a murky area of the law though there have been court cases in which framing has been seen as violation of copyright law. Many cases that were taken to court ended up settling out-of-court with the one doing the framing agreeing to cease framing and to just use a regular link to the other site.

The East Liverpool Historical Society pays fees to keep their site online. A person framing the Society site is effectively presenting the entire East Liverpool Historical Society web site as his own site and doing it at no cost to himself, i.e. stealing the site.
